Open Concept Davis Island Remodel – VIDEO
This project was a complete gut job. We removed several walls to create a modern Open Concept warm family home. We removed the old tile floors and replaced them with wood-faux tile to transform the space into a warm but modern feel. Using the same tile throughout most of the house made the space appear larger.
For the bedrooms, we replaced the floors with wood-like porcelain tile planks. We also outfitted the home with new closet doors, new walls and fresh paint. The second bathroom was updated with all new fixtures, flooring, walls, and lighting as well.
OPEN CONCEPT LIVING MAKES SMALL BETTER
Older homes in Davis Island tend to be on the smaller side with lots of separated rooms. Using today’s top remodeling trends like Open Concept living, can make even a small home surprisingly comfortable.
So we got to work. We installed the classic white shaker style cabinets as the mainstay of the new kitchen. It was dressed up with stainless steel features and brushed nickel hardware finishes. We put in a large island full of cabinets on both sides to significantly increases storage space in this South Tampa kitchen remodel. Lighting was layered with recessed lights and pendant lights placed over the island.
We also relocated a few walls to create the much desired Open Concept kitchen-living area. Now the family can enjoy each others company with ease and comfort. The home is now open, yet warm and inviting.
LARGE WALK IN SHOWER FOR A SMALLER BATHROOM
We updated the master bathroom to house a large walk-in shower with a built-in shower seat. For the shower floor we put in smooth pebble tiles. Pebble tiles are a good choice for shower floors because they are slip-resistant. To complete the design, we made the shower insert the feature by using the same pebble tiles as on the shower floor.
The result is a home that is filled with timeless charm. These are types of remodels we like to do for Tampa, and this is what rates us as among the Best Contractor’s in Tampa.
